ISA2006 - 5.0.5723.511, Windows 2003 R2, SP2.

Hey Team,

This may be a difficult one to explain so please bare with me. We have 2 servers in an ISA Enterprise Array. Both servers have WNLB installed and up until yesterday everything was fine. Yesterday the VMhost crashed and took 'em both with it. THe vmhost is now back up and the servers are running fine.

Environment:

1) 2x Clusters (internal and External)

2) 2x ISA 2006 Servers, Enterprise Array

3) NICs per server

3) 25 or more rules and 4 or 5 certificates (so involved)

4) Exchange 2007 Publishing, SharePoint Publishing other stuff.

Situation:

1) ISA02 Server cannot ping two of the Exchange servers, say the address are .2.5 (Same network)

2) ISA02 Can ping the Domain Controllers, Say address are .44.45 (Same network)

3) ISA01 Can ping all Exchange Servers

4) ISA01 Can only ping 1 Domain controller

5) Rules are set to goto the array

We used wireshark and can confirm that the packets is leaving the network but not coming back in, this is for ISA02 and when its trying to access one of the exchange servers (ip ending in say .2).

I said all of that to get to this which is.... Can we safely remove one of the nodes from the Enterprise ISA Array without affecting any of the rules ? I am asking because we think we have WNLB issue here and want to rule it out.

Sorry this was so long... and confusing... I can provide more data if needed.

Thanks,

Robert

Robert
