Hi,
Before I joined this company exchange 2010 went live with a single TMG 2010 server. Now we don't have redundancy for TMG and we want to introduce another TMG server. (Version: Microsoft Forefront TMG 2010)
As I've never worked on TMG anytime before I'm a little confused and don't want to break the existing setup.
1. How to introduce a second TMG safely without disturbing the first one?
I initially thought to just setup a second server and export/import the configuration from the first server. Once everything runs fine, then plan to setup a cluster. Is this way possible? The risk is low because I'm not making changes on the first one immediately and if second one doesn't run as expected then we can safely unplug from network.
2. How to setup a cluster?
3. What should I look for first and how do I make my plan? What all things should I've before I even start?
4. I checked the installation, the person had installed RTM version (7.0.7734), followed by SP1 (7.09193.200), then SP1 Update 1 (7.09193.400), and lastly SP2 (7.09193.500).
Final Version currently running is System).
Do I have to install in this same order or is there full version available with SP2 slipstreamed in it. What is the best course of action.
5. I've a stand-alone lab (without Internet connection) where I practice my exchange before making major change. Can I introduce TMG there first and allow internal traffic also to go through TMG and get my hands-on that tool.
By now you must be fully aware that how much exposure I have on TMG. I apologize for so many questions. As there is no documentation done for the existing setup, I've to look for each thing myself.
Thanks,
Fahad
