I'm in the process of moving between ISA 2006 and TMG 2010 and I have configured my TMG array with the same NLB IP addresses as I have on the ISA array, however the network cards on the TMG array are not physically plugged in to anything yet, with the thought of physically moving over the network cables between servers, meaning I can fall back easily if needed.
This seems to work fine for a day or so, but then the TMG array stops the NLB service and throws an alert:
Network 'Network Name' has a virtual IP set that is the same as the dedicated IP of network adapter 'Network'. Network load balancing cannot be configured properly, and will be stopped on this server.
This happens for the 4 separate networks I have on the TMG array, all of which I haven't plugged into the network yet.
My main question is do the network cards need to physically be plugged in in order for the NLB service to function correctly, or do I have a config problem somewhere? I don't want to switch over the the TMG array and then find that it's having NLB troubles where the ISA array is steady as a rock.
